About Amalia

I’m Amalia — a Richmond-based mum baking home-style cakes made with real ingredients and around 30% less sugar than traditional high-street brands.

I’ve always believed in staying active while still enjoying a slice — or two — of cake. Becoming a mother deepened that belief, inspiring me to bake with less sugar for my children and shaping the way I bake today: finding balance between indulgence and wellbeing without ever compromising on flavour.

My own gluten-free journey has also shaped the way I bake, sharpening my focus on flavour, texture, and balance. Many of my cakes are naturally gluten-free or can be made so, without losing the comfort or indulgence they’re known for.

Before becoming a stay-at-home mum and turning my focus to baking, I spent many years working across London, Paris, and New York in a fast-paced professional world — shaping the discipline, precision, and consistency that now flow quietly into my kitchen.

Over the years, I’ve baked hundreds of cakes, many of which have become signature favourites among friends and family, returned to year after year for birthdays, gatherings, and meaningful gifts. Refined through countless bakes and shared moments, these recipes reflect a belief that indulgence needn’t be overpowering — it can be refined, comforting, and made to be enjoyed again and again.

Amalia’s Bakes is a registered home-based food business. I hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate and bake in accordance with UK food - safety standards.
